Pastoral Curriculum

pastoral curriculum learning journey 2022 23.pdf

Within our tutor programme, each week has a focus to guide students to consider a different aspect of the wider world, as such pupils have a tutor session focusing on a particular aim which is differentiated to be appropriate to their year group.

Pupils also receive a tailored PSHE lessons within the tutor programme. This programme covers particular aspects of the PSHE and RSE curriculum recommended by the government. Each term has a different focus. Pupils also have the chance to listen to outside speakers and experts, as well as watch theatre and workshop performances to further enhance their SMSC experience.

Our broad and balanced curriculum offers significant opportunities for your child's SMSC development across all of her/his subjects, this includes our celebrated arts culture character education and prep activities such as the CCF.

As part of the Pastoral Curriculum, pupils cover topics relating to puberty and sexual education –  we view this aspect to education imperative to a child’s development into adulthood, if you have strong objection to your child receiving the sexual education content then please contact their Progress Leader to discuss this.
